Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Genesis 9:13

Christmas without tears

As of 10 minutes ago I have all Christmas presents wrapped, bagged according to family they go to (so they can be evenly distributed around the tree and we won't have trouble finding a gift for any one person at any time), and ready to lug to my car Saturday (the hard part). The only thing left is to stick my sister's gift card for her birthday in a thing when it arrives and put a bra I got my my mom at the same time I got my sister's gift card in a box where I can stick it so she'll open it privately. (I got my sister a bra gift card as she will have needs soon).

And I'm getting sleepy, and well, today I laughed hard, and really laughed, for the first time in a long time. No sadness, just laughter. And if I can feel better at this time of year, in another month when my birthday is over (it's a very hard day for me) I will be much better.

This may have an end. (or Dr. Mind has brainwashed me)

Let's hear it for "washing of the brain!" Go Dr. Mind! Let's hear it for hope!

Let us hold unswervingly to the HOPE we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23

You've purchased VERY thoughtful gifts and you're presenting them in such a considerate way.

I'm proud of you!

My birthday's in a couple of days..not the best season but the Lord knew that when He knit me together...and He knew my mother, too. Please pray for me, too. Lots of struggles including a burst pipe today. The Lord provided a very helpful young guy from the water department who went above and beyond to help when I had no one else. He even made a second "house call" with a part. He said "We don't usually carry that part. I'm surprised I found it." I replied "Well, you're an answer to prayer, that's why you had it!" I was so touched by his kindness and the Lord's goodness in encouraging me in this way when I was panicking. The guy wasn't supposed to do any plumbing so I couldn't say anything about that but I did call immediately to let his general manager and direct supervisor know that he was a very good representative of the district. I have to hold on to that bright spot in difficult times, don't I?

It sure is nice to have modern utilities. Honestly, it's so wonderful to have hot and cold running water at the twist of a faucet and electric lights at the flip of a switch. Well, off to put my toilet flushing buckets away...
