Next year I'm buying a salt block

It has been hideously hot for September (or July). Today it was still in the mid-90s at 6 pm. I have been not feeling so great because of it. I've also craved salt like it is a drug. I've been eating all kinds of weird things (weird to my usual diet): huge servings of chips with dip (once in the night), tomatoes with tons of salt, tuna salad with tons of salt, peanut butter, I just bought cottage cheese and looked longingly at all sorts of salty things in the store, and I don't know what else. I've been acting starved for salt.

I know it's just my body's reaction to the heat with the lithium and DI. But I'm seriously thinking I could just eat salt straight from the shaker right now. Blech.

I eat salt like it's going out of style. When I get tacos people laugh when they see me salt each individual chip before I eat it, I salt my cheese, and my salad... I've even been known to salt apple slices. The heat is definitely a factor, and I do exercise a lot but still. People make concerned noises about my blood pressure, but it's actually quite low (104/58 the last time I went to the doc, following a 10 mile uphill bike ride mind you). Maybe it's some sort of psychological compensatory strategy to make sure I always have a spare 'grain of salt" for the proverbial "take it with a grain of salt" situations that come up in everyday life...

The funny thing is that until lithium I HATED salt. I didn't add it to anything. I didn't even salt meat when I cooked.

Now, there is salt everywhere. Although not as much as you....
