Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Genesis 9:13

surprise

So it turns out that Dr Mind is right and drawing did help.  It kept me awake a lot longer than I should be, but that was crying too. Crying is good.  I need to do that.

Now if I could just draw that cat instead of a pictorial representation of my overwhelming guilt at not getting better, repeatedly spread over 14 months.

Glad you're expressing yourself by drawing, crying, blogging and talking with your caring doctors. I hope re-reading your own entries helps give you a bit of perspective. You've been in a tough situation for way too long. Dr. Brain knows how to take care of herself and she's doing the right thing. I agree that another perspective might be very helpful both for your benefit and the doctors.

You have every right to be peeved about the disappointing portrait of Gypsy. You're just telling the truth...again. Keep it up. Years ago I wanted to take on a big challenge but got disappointed and muttered "I can't do this. I just can't do this." My daughter, only 10 at the time, sternly said "Mom, you CAN do it! You're not telling yourself the TRUTH!" It was a profound statement. I've needed the "Little Engine That Could" message since it was first presented to me in primary school, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can." Seriously. A few years ago, a close friend had the cover of that book framed for me. (I intended to do it myself but she was much better at getting her good intentions accomplished.) Does this message resonate with you?

I just finished finals. It was a lot of hard work but my grades are good. Thank you Lord! I sure hope I can settle down for "a long winter's nap."

"I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

Jen, I'm proud of your fortitude! Keep fighting the good fight!

(((hugs))) and blessings as you explore your feelings through art work.
